Never Give Up...

Never Give Up…

Sometimes we set ourselves up for failure by mentally creating our own roadblocks…

Often I see either new  or seasoned real estate investors that are battling self-created obstacles. As a child I went through a series of events that were repeatedly negative.  Just when I was starting to get my bearings and life seemed steady and on a roll, I would be faced with change (again).  I almost always took it as a negative and subconciously registered it as a failure.  Most devastingly -as a failure on my part when in fact I had absolutely no control.   I believe that these series of events helped form my fear of change, of letting go, and venturing out in life as a fear of failure.

For me it took great pain to learn to reach out.  If we’ve spoken you know one of my favorite sayings is “pain creates change”….  I speak from the heart when i say it.  It’s this latest revelation that I speak of above that really just hit me -last night as a matter of fact through the words of another.

and it is with that thought that is the basis of this whole article of ‘Fighting through Ones Fears”    Taking the time to figure out what are your fears or triggers may take a lifetime so we don’t have time for that.  Heck -what I vaguely touch on from above didn’t hit me till I was 44 and I started real estate investing almost 20 years ago.  The important thing is to “Take Action,”  Outline a gameplan (if but only in your head), and move forward.  Harness what energy you have from whatever motivates you and move forward.  For years I used the motivation of having to prove that I was worth something (like Me against the World) to make it all happen.  almost an “I’ll show them” type of mentality.

You see it doesn’t matter what brings you to the realization that real estate is your tool for independence, wealth creation, or an avenue of personal growth (and enjoyment).  What matters is that your here.  Your educating yourself.  Your taking action in both creating opportunity and processing transactions.   Forget the Static!!!  All those ‘what-ifs’ one can’t change or those feelings of being ‘less than’.  Everyone has skeletons in the closet.  I don’t care if your broke, no credit, jobless, fighting addiction, have legal problems, or just lost a spouse (or kids) to divorce or death.  We all have to forgive ourselves for what we have responsibility over, let go of that which we cannot control, and move foward in a healthy positive manner.

Easier said then done…

and that is why at times I have reflected on using fear or anger (at myself and the World) as my motivation in the past.  Whether one calls it healthy or not, it was the only way I knew how to deal with my issues and put that negative energy to good work.  Heck I’d say it was pretty good.  I don’t care how you do it -just do…

There are no real secrets to life nor real estate investing for that matter.  No matter what angle your looking at approaching it from whether that be wholesaling, landlording, rehab to retailing, lending, contracting, etc., getting proper guidance and taking action is the key.

You’ve gotten this far -no more excuses!!!

Go make it happen.
